For 20 years, I have played in many projects with a rock, punk, or even metal vibe. In short, always electric. The band I currently play in wanted to do some acoustic gigs, so I followed suit by looking to acquire an acoustic bass. My first choice was the Fender Kingsman V2, for the neck resembling that of a jazz bass. Unfortunately, I was disappointed partly by the bulkiness of the body and the Fishman preamp. So, I was looking for a real acoustic bass alternative suitable for someone used to electric basses... and this Ovation satisfies me: the neck is pleasant to play, the bass is light, the body less bulky, and the ultimate luxury for forgetful people like me, the tuner turns off by itself. Many people don't like the fact that the "back" of the body is made of composite material... but personally, I don't care, and on the contrary, I like it: the instrument is less fragile. In short, I do not regret my choice. And congratulations also to Woodbrass who managed to send me this well-packaged and undamaged parcel, unlike their German competitors.
